Drowning in 7s

Has anyone else noticed the sudden amount of movies concerning gambling?
This might have been common practice or it might be something new, following the poker trend of young people and the celebrity following on Bravo, but I feel a bit inundated. While I have no interest in gambling myself, I can see the appeal to a suspenseful story line, character development, and the film making process.
I've been told by acquaintances that I'm a young'un stuck in an 86 year old's mind-set. One of my favorite movies vaguely dealing with gambling is Sister Act. Admittedly, the film 21 clearly appeals to the the double entendre of that year of great drinking and legality as well as Black Jack and other card games. Other film trailers that have come out recently include, The Grand and Deal. These come on the feet of Lucky You, Michael Clayton and Clooney's Ocean sequels. This does not account for gambling, casino themes in various television series. Oh, and let's not forget the latest Bond film, Casino Royale.
I will respect that the film industry appeals to the varied interests and vices of its audience, but aren't we overdoing it just a bit?
